PURPOSE: To provide a highly reliable stator for a small size motor in which a permanent magnet can be surely fixed within a housing with and no foreign matters scattered.
CONSTITUTION: In a stator for a small size motor in which a permanent magnet 2 is fixed at the internal surface of a housing 1 formed in the hollow cylindrical shape having a bottom, the internal surface of the housing 1 is formed of two flat surfaces facing each other and two concave cylindrical surfaces, providing projections 16 for engagement at the flat surfaces and also providing, at the edge side along the axial line of the permenent magnet 2 forming the arcuated contour of the sectional surface with a flexible magnetic material, a flat plane in contact with the flat surface and an engaging surface 23 in contact with the projection 16 for engagement. Encroaching of projection 16 for engagement into the cylindrical surface of the housing 1 due to plastic deformation under the condition that the permanent magnet 2 is inserted into the housing 1 allows the arcuated external surface of the permanent magnet 2 to be in contact with the cylindrical surface of the housing 1 and the flat surface at the edge side with the flat surface and also causes the permanent magnet 2 to be fixed within the housing 1.
