To provide a status recording apparatus capable of preventing missing and a loss of image data attended with an accident or a fault caused when a vehicle is driven.

The status recording apparatus 1 includes: a camera 2 mounted on the vehicle and for photographing an external status when the vehicle is driven; a MRAM 3 for storing image data imaged by the camera; a CPU 4 for controlling the storage processing and the whole status recording apparatus; a flag 5 for approving/disapproving the storage of the image data to the MRAM; and an abnormality detection sensor 6 for detecting the abnormality caused in the vehicle during driving, and the control means sets the flag means to a storage approval setting in an initial state.
