Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stave cooler and a blast furnace each of which enables its life as a product to be prolonged.SOLUTION: In a body 102 of the stave cooler, made of a copper or a copper alloy rolled plate, a plurality of grooves 120 extending in the width direction of the body are formed keeping a space in the height direction of the body. Each of the grooves includes an opening 120a at a surface 102a and a bottom 120b located on the back face 102b side of the opening, and has a depth in the body thickness direction for connecting the surface and the back face. Between two adjacent grooves in the height direction of the body, there are formed ribs 122. Each of the ribs 122 has a surface of the body located between openings of the two grooves and a pair of sides 122b extending from the surface of the body to each bottom of the two grooves. The cross section of each rib 122 in the height direction of the body gradually increases as it proceeds from the bottom side toward the surface side of the body. A metallic protection plate member 130 which is in surface contact with the surface of the body and each of a pair of sides is engaged with and attached to the rib.
