Abstract:
To provide a stave for cooling a furnace body of a shaft-furnace type metallurgical furnace, which can reduce heat loss occurring when the stave made from copper or copper alloy is used.
The stave to be used for cooling the furnace body of the shaft-furnace type metallurgical furnace includes: the main body 1 of the stave made from copper or copper alloy; and a passage for passing a refrigerant therein, which is formed in the main body 1 of the stave and has a wall surface covered with an insulation material 4. The thickness of the insulation material 4 is preferably 5 mm or less.
