Title:
STAVE FOR COOLING FURNACE BODY OF SHAFT FURNACE TYPE METALLURGICAL FURNACE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2011157565
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a stave for cooling a furnace body of a shaft furnace type metallurgical furnace, which has longer life compared to that of a conventional stave made of cast iron and is capable of reducing less heat loss compared to that induced by a stave made of copper or a copper alloy.

The stave for cooling a furnace body of a shaft furnace type metallurgical furnace is intended for use in cooling the furnace body of the shaft furnace type metallurgical furnace, wherein the stave body includes two parts, i.e. a part 1 outside the furnace and a part 5 inside the furnace. The part 1 outside the furnace has a channel for passing a refrigerant and is made of copper or a copper alloy. The part 5 inside the furnace has a hardness higher than that of the part 1 outside the furnace. The part 1 inside the furnace and the part 5 outside the furnace are connected to each other via a heat-insulating material 4. Preferably, the thickness of the heat-insulating material 4 is ≤5 mm.
