Abstract:

PURPOSE: To facilitate the attachment of a stay for coupling between vehicle body members.
CONSTITUTION: A hole 15 having a cylindrical guide 16 therearound is formed in one end part of a stay 5, and the stay 5 is attached to one of members by means of a stepped screw 10 having a truncated shank 12 adapted to make slidably contact with the cylindrical guide 16, and a cut-out groove 22 circumferentially extending from one side surface of the stay 5 is formed in the other end part of the stay 5. Further, flanges 17 adapted to be fitted onto the peripheral edge of the other member are formed on both sides of the stay 5. With this arrangement, even though one side of the stay 5 is attached to the members, no detrimental affection affects upon the fastening of the screw 10, and the other side of the stay 5 can be aligned due to its shape although it is positioned where it is not visible.
