To provide a steam cleaner in which a user can adjust the quantity of steam to be generated from a head and this head can be made compact.

The steam cleaner is equipped with an upper handle 1, an intermediate pole 4, a bottom head 7 provided with a flash steam generator for generating and supplying steam, a water container 2 housed on the apex of the pole 4 within the area of the handle 1, a duct 5 for moving water from the container 2 to the head 7 and a water charging device 3 housed in an associated charging port part 202 formed above the container 2. The steam cleaner is further provided with a steam adjuster 22 equipped with a fixed bush 24 having a hollow bottom end part 241 engaged with the apex part of the divided pole 4 in a hermetically sealed manner and a valve element 29 fixed inside the fixed bush 24. The apex portion 291 of the valve element 29 is engaged with a discharge port part 201 of the container 2 in a hermetically sealed manner and is provided with a through hole 292 which is adjustably opened and closed by a valve 28. The valve 28 is operated outside the steam adjuster 22 by means of a proper means 23 movable relatively to the fixed bush 24.
