PURPOSE: To heat the central portion of food and provide good finish by a method wherein steam is generated for the first fixed time period and then a sound for informing the completion of heating is made after lapse of the second fixed time period.
CONSTITUTION: With a heating starting switch 8 temporarily closed, a voltage is generated in a power circuit 10 connected with the secondary side of a power source transformer 6. Consequently, a setting circuit 11 operates to set a fixed time t2 and a fixed time t3 on a timer circuit 12, and steam is first fed into a heating chamber 4 for the fixed time t2. With the time t2 reached, a steam generating mechanism 3 stops operating, when the central portion of food is in an insufficiently heated condition. Therefore, the food is left in the heating chamber and further heated for the fixed time t3. After lapse of the time period t3, a sound generating device 15 is operated to inform the completion of heating.
