PURPOSE: To provide a steam iron, though codeless, capable of stably supplying water to its vaporizing room.

CONSTITUTION: A vaporizing room 4 is formed at a base 3 that has a heater. A water-supply pump 12 is fixed to a water passageway 11 that connects the vaporizing room 4 to a water tank 8. An energy storing spring 30, forming energy accumulating measures 24, is to be fixed to the water-supply pump 12, while, an energy accumulating motor 25, which gives accumulating energy to the energy storing spring 30, is to be fixed in an iron rest 21. Whenever the iron 1 is put thereon, the energy accumulating measures 24 accumulate driving power of the water-supply pump 12. Thus, it can make the water-supply pump operate stably at all times.
