Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a small, low-speed turbine by providing an intermittent injection nozzle in a steam turbine and injecting a liquid working fluid, which is heated and pressurized by a boiler, after heating it by means of a heating device immediately before said nozzle. CONSTITUTION:A liquid working fluid which is heated and pressurized in a boiler 2 is injected from an intermittent injection nozzle 12, to a turbine blade 5, after heated by means of an over-heating device 4 provided immediately before the nozzle 12. The quantity of the injected steam is controlled by a rotary valve 11. The load of a generator 11, etc. is directly applied to the turbine without allowing it to pass through any reduction gear. Thereby, the boiler can be made small, and a reduction mechanism can be omitted, reducing mechanical losses.
