To clean the surface to be cleaned efficiently by starting a driving means for driving a cleaning element substantially synchronously with the eject timing of steam from a jet nozzle in a steam type vacuum cleaner adapted to heat water by a heater to produce steam, thereby removing soil adhering to the floor or the like.
A steam vacuum cleaner 1 comprises a cleaning means B including a cleaning element 20 fitted to a case body 10 and a steam generator 50 fitted to an air pipe 40 to which the means B is connected. The cleaning element 20 comprises a fan 35 and an exciter 36, and a steam jet device 32 formed in such a manner as to be directed to the floor surface is disposed in a ejecting device disposing part 27. The steam producer 50 is adapted to heat water supplied from a water storage tank 60 by a steam producer 70 having a heater to evaporate the same. The timing of ejecting produce steam from a ejecting part 32a is detected, and a driving means comprising the fan 35, the exciter 36 and a vacuum cleaner is driven substantially synchronously with the eject timing.
