Title:
STEEL FIBER FOR REINFORCING CONCRETE AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3798488
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the strength of concrete by uniformly dispersing steel fibers, each of which is formed straight in its central part and has respectively specific numbers of waveform-like curves near both ends, into the concrete, thereby making it possible to obtain sufficient friction resistance.
SOLUTION: Each fiber 1 for reinforcing the concrete consists of the straight central part 2 and the corrugated parts 3 molded on the right and left thereof. The length L of these steel fibers is preferably 25 to 40mm if the max. size of coarse aggregate is about 15mm. The waveforms are 1 to 5 pieces and the sizes and number of the waveforms are determined by the strength of the concrete. The points to be corrugated are both ends of the steel fibers. The length (l) of the corrugated part is preferably set at l/L≤0.3 with respect to the length L of the steel fibers. The pitch of the corrugated parts is preferably P/L≤0.3. The sections of the steel fibers are formed nearly circular and the diameter in a range from 0.5 to 0.8mm is desirable for productivity and reinforcement effect. The height H of the corrugations is preferably in a range of 0.1 to 1 times the diameter of the steel fibers.
