Title:
STEEL FOR HIGH HEAT INPUT WELDING WITH MORE THAN 70KJ/CM HEAT INPUT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6314843
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To manufacture a steel for high heat input welding usable for high heat input welding and considerably reducing cost by adding specified percentages of C, Si, Mn, P, sol. Al, B, Ti and N to Fe.

CONSTITUTION: A steel consisting of, by weight, 0.03W0.10% C, 0.05W0.30% Si, 0.5W2.0% Mn, ≤0.006% P, 0.005W0.050% sol. Al, 0.0003W0.0010% B, 0.001W0.010% Ti, ≤0.003% N and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is manufactured. When the steel for high heat input welding is welded by high heat input welding with ≥70kJ/cm heat input, brittle fracture is hardly caused in the weld heat-affected zone, so the steel is useful to build ships or marine structure for service in the polar regions.
