A steel pile 10 is constituted of a pile main body 10a having a hollow cylindrical diameter formed of steel and an electrochemically base metal coated layer 10b than iron formed on the surface of the pile main body 10a, and the surface of the coated layer 10b is coated with a hard synthetic resin coated member 10c. The coated layer 10b is so provided that it covers the whole circumference of the pile main body 10a, and it is selected from lead, aluminum, magnesium or alloy of them. The coated layer 10b is formed of metal or alloy plating or welding. The thickness of the coated layer 10b is decided in consideration for probability of damage in the coated member 10c on the surface in the case the steel pile 10 is set in the ground. The coated member 10c is selected from synthetic rubber, polyethylene, fiber-reinforced synthetic resin.
