PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel pipe connection mechanism with high economic efficiency.SOLUTION: The steel pipe connection mechanism comprises a pin joint 3 provided on one end of a steel pipe main body, a box joint 4 provided on the other end of the steel pipe main body, an outward groove 32 provided along the outer peripheral surface of the pin joint 3, and a load transmission key 7 that is disposed so as to overlap an inward groove 42 provided along the inner peripheral surface of the box joint 4 corresponding to the outward groove 32. The radius of curvature ρ (mm) of corners of the outward groove 32 and the inward groove 42 satisfies formula (1) 1.0≤ρ
