Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a steel plate for fine blanking work with superior carburizing characteristics and hardenability by adding specified percentages of C, Si, Mu, Cr, B and Al to Fe and by carrying out hot rolling under specified conditions.

CONSTITUTION: A steel consisting of, by weigth, 0.06W0.18% C, ≤0.40% Si, 0.60W1.20% Mu, ≤0.08% Cr, 0.0005W0.005% B, ≤0.080% Al and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities or further contg. ≤0.05% Ti is prepared. A slab of this steel is heated to ≥1,100°C and hot rolled while controlling the finishing temp. to 780W930°C and the coiling temp. to 510W720°C. Thus, a steel plate with superior fine blanking workability, carburizing characteristics and hardenability is manufacture inexpensively.
