Title:
STEEL FOR ROLLING PARTS AND ROLLING PARTS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3748203
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide steel for rolling parts having an excellent rolling fatigue life and used for a bearing for the engine auxiliary machine of an automobile or the like or a bearing and rolling and sliding parts used under high vibration and high impact loads and further used as a rolling element for a toroidal type continuously variable transmission and to provide rolling parts.
SOLUTION: The steel for rolling parts is obtained by subjecting steel having a composition containing, by mass, >0.50 to <0.65% C, 0.05 to 2.0% Si, 0.1 to 2.0% Mn, 3.0 to <5.0% Cr, Mo+1/2W: >2.00 to 6.00% and V+1/2Nb: 0.02 to 3.00% and, if required, containing 0.010 to <0.10% Al, ≤20 ppm O, and ≤500 ppm N, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities to secondary hardening by quenching and tempering. Further, in the steel for rolling parts and the same rolling parts, the size of carbides is controlled to ≤10 μm. Moreover, the rolling parts are obtained by subjecting the steel for rolling parts to carburizing treatment or carbo-nitriding treatment.
