Title:
STEEL SHEET FOR CAN HAVING SUPERIOR WELDABILITY AND CORROSION RESISTANCE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6379995
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To produce a steel sheet for a can having superior weldability and corrosion resistance by forming an Sn-Fe-Ni-P alloy layer on the surface of a steel sheet and successively depositing free Sn and chromium oxide hydrate on the alloy layer. CONSTITUTION:An Ni-P or Ni-B alloy film contg. about 3-15% P or B is formed on the surface of a steel sheet by about 5-200mg/m<2> and 0.1-5.6g/m<2> Sn of about 0.1-3mu grain size is electrodeposited on the film by tinning. Reflow treatment is then carried out at about 231-300 deg.C for about 0.5- several sec to form an Sn-Fe-Ni-P or Sn-Fe-Ni-B alloy layer on the surface of the steel sheet. About 0-30mg/m<2> metal Cr is deposited on the alloy layer is required and about 2-30mg/m<2> (expressed in terms of Cr) chromium oxide hydrate is deposited. Thus, a steel sheet for a welded can having improved weldability and corrosion resistance is obtd.
