Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a steel sheet for welded can, used for a stock for can manufacture and particularly excellent in seam weldability, corrosion resistance, and adhesion.
SOLUTION: Nickel plating is applied at least to one surface of a steel sheet by (100 to 2000) mg/m2 Ni coating weight and a part or the whole of the resultant Ni plating layer is alloyed by heat treatment, by which an Ni diffusion layer is formed. Further, if necessary, a hydrated Gr oxide layer or a chromate film layer consisting of metallic Cr and hydrated Cr oxide is formed on the surface. By this method, the steel sheet for welded can, used for a stock for can manufacture and particularly excellent in seam weldability, corrosion resistance, and adhesion, can be provided.
