To simplify a joint structure in the direction of circumference of a tunnel in a steel shell segment achieving the connection in the direction of tunnel axis by a boltless connection system.
This steel shell segment connects in the direction of tunnel axis (between segment rings) of mutually opposing steel shell segments 1 by the engagement of a male side engaging member 35 provided on a web 13 of a steel shell side frame 5 and a female side engaging member 36 through a water stop packing. A joint member in the direction of circumference of a tunnel (segment) in this steel shell segment 1 is constituted by a joint part platelike steel members 20 capable of coming into face-contact between mutually opposing members, and a water stop packing is mounted in a fitting groove 24 formed in this joint part platelike steel member 20 to join both joint part platelike steel members 20 water-tightly through this water stop packing.
