Title:
STEEL STOCK EXCELLENT IN GALVANIZING SUITABILITY AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01294848
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a high-tensile steel stock excellent in weld crack sensitivity, hot dip galvanizing suitability, and toughness in a weld zone by subjecting a steel having a specific composition consisting of C, Si, Mn, P, S, Al, O, N, Nb, Ti and Fe to specific rolling.

CONSTITUTION: A steel which has a composition consisting of, by weight, 0.04-0.18% C, 0.001-0.03% Si, 0.4-1.75% Mn, ≤0.035% P, ≤0.035% S, 0.001-0.025% Al, ≤0.0040% O, ≤0.008% N, further 0.005-0.09% Nb and/or 0.003-0.09% Ti, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and further containing, if necessary, one or more kinds among ≤0.5% of Cu, Ni, Cr, and Mo, ≤0.1% V, 0.0003-0.0025% B, and ≤0.005% Ca and in which PCM (weld crack sensitivity index) ≤0.180% and Pzn=Si+3P+3Al0.12% are satisfied is heated to a temp. between the Ac3 point and 1280°C and rolled, and the rolling is finished at 850-680°C. Subsequently, cooling is applied to the above down to 550°C at ≤50°C/sec cooling rate, by which the steel stock excellent in galvanizing suitability can be obtained.
