Title:
STEEL FOR VESSEL HAVING EXCELLENT CORROSION RESISTANCE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3923962
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide steel for shipbuilding having excellent corrosion resistance which can be put to practical use even without applying coating and electrolytic protection, particularly, steel for shipbuilding in which the improvement of durability to crevice corrosion can be attained, and which exhibits excellent durability even to corrosion owing to the sticking of salt caused by seawater and owing to a wetting environment.
SOLUTION: The corrosion resistant steel for shipbuilding has a composition comprising 0.01 to 0.30% C, 0.01 to 1.50% Si, 0.01 to 2.0% Mn and 0.005 to 0.10% Al, and further comprising 0.01 to 5.00% Co and 0.0005 to 0.020% Mg, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities.
