Title:
STEEL FOR WELDING STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2950076
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To suppress the coarsening of austenitic grains at a part heated to a high temp. in high heat input welding by specifying the content of SolAl, InSolAl and O in steel.
CONSTITUTION: The fundamental compsn. of steel for welding structure is formed of a one contg., by weight, 0.01 to 0.3% C, 0.01 to 0.3% Si, 0.3 to 3S Mn, ≤0.3% P, ≤0.03% S, 0.0001 to 0.005% SolAl, 0.0005 to 0.005% InSolAl and 0.001 to 0.005% O. In this way, at the time of high heat-input welding, the coarsening of austenitic grains can be prevented even in a part heated to ≥400°C. Moreover, the steel has excellent low temp. HAZ toughness by the effect of refining the austenitic grains.
