Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering column device which does not change an angle of a wheel surface during the positional adjustment in vertical and fore-and-aft directions of a steering wheel.SOLUTION: A steering column is equipped with: a vehicle body side bracket 1; a column jacket 2; and first link members 3A, 3B and second link members 4 disposed in an X-shape therebetween. A pair of ball screws is stored in the vehicle body side bracket 1. Upper ends of the first link members 3A, 3B are coupled to a back side nut member 8 of one of the ball screws, and upper ends of the second link members 3A, 3B are coupled to a front side nut member 7 of the other ball screw. During the vertical movement and the fore-and-aft movement of the column jacket 2, both nut members 7 and 8 move while rotating a screw shaft, thereby permitting the parallel movement of the column jacket 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
