Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering column device capable of absorbing impact energy immediately after impact is added to an inner column, without generating an idle traveling section.SOLUTION: A steering column device 1 is provided with friction locking means 53 in which a part on a small diameter side than a step portion 51a on an operation shaft 51 between clamp portions 32 penetrates an impact absorbing long hole 53c in a laminating direction, dimensions in an operation shaft direction of cam means 52 are increased by operating an operation lever 54, thereby press-contacting and holding a moving side friction plate 53b by a fixed side friction plate 53a between the step portion 51a and an inner surface of the other clamp portion 32, and the moving side friction plate 53b slides on the fixed side friction plate 53a when a load of a set value or more is added while the moving side friction plate 53b is press-contacted and held by the fixed side friction plate 53a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
