PURPOSE: To provide a steering-column tube body for a motor vehicle which is constituted with a min. limit of members, secures dimensional precision, and simultaneously is produced in a cost as low as possible.

CONSTITUTION: This steering-column tube body 1 for a motor vehicle is provided from a cut-out blank 19 of a single metal sheet, with which two fixing lugs 5, two rear fixing lugs 6 and a tube 4 are integrally formed. Each member of the cut-out blank is bent as roll-state by approaching edge parts 20, 21 and 22, 23 to form the tube 4. This tube 4 is provided with a front opening part 11 and a rear opening part 12 at the positions of the fixed lugs 5, 6 integrally constituted with the tube and a linkage arm 16 connecting a front member 7 and a rear member 8.
