To provide a steering column unit which can prevent the occurrence of a rattle, can reduce costs, and enables a stepless adjustment of a steering position.
The steering column unit 1 is provided with a steering column having a tilt-adjustment mechanism 11. The tilt-adjustment mechanism 11 is provided with a tilt stay 13, a tilt cover 15, a wedge member 17, a spring member 19, and a spring cover 21. The tilt stay 13 is pivoted by one side of either a bracket on the movable side or a bracket on the fixing side so that it can rotate, and the tilt cover 15 is pivoted by the other side of either the bracket on the movable side or the bracket on the fixing side so that it can rotate. Then the wedge member 17 has a wedge-shaped fixing part which is engaged between a notch 15a-1 and the tilt stay 13, and the spring member 19 pushes the wedge member 17 from the underside which is the other side of the fixing side of the wedge member 17 where the fixing part is provided. The spring cover 21 makes the spring member 19 push the wedge member 17.
