To provide a steering column allowing easy assembling work in a mounting structure of mounting the steering column on a vehicle body while securing electric conductivity between a mounting bracket and a capsule.

The capsule 24 has an upper side holding plate 24a and a lower side holding plate 24b formed on a mounting portion of the mounting bracket 21, and a mounting seat 21a of the mounting bracket 21 is inserted therebetween. The upper side holding plate 24a has a through-hole 24d and the mounting bracket 21 has a recessed portion 21d corresponding to the through-hole 24d, and a shearing pin forming portion is formed by the through-hole 24d and the recessed portion 21d. A synthetic resin is injection molded on the shearing pin forming portion to form a shearing pin. Even when the synthetic resin protrudes into a gap between the upper side holding plate 24a and the mounting bracket 21, the mounting bracket 21 is thrust by the lower side holding plate 24b, ensuring electric contact therebetween.
