To provide a steering control device which can appropriately control steering reaction force to be applied to a steering member by a simple system.
A steering control part 5 of a steering control device 1 has a steering control motor 55 and controls a steering control motor 55 based on a steering wheel angle θh to control a steering angle θt of a steering wheel 7. A steering reaction force applying part 3 is provided on the steering wheel 8 side of the steering control part 5, and has a differential deceleration mechanism 30 which transmits the rotation of an input shaft 11 to an output shaft 21 and a reaction force applying motor 45 which drives a differential deceleration mechanism 30; and the steering reaction force is applied to the steering wheel 8 by driving the reaction force applying motor 45. Accordingly, since the steering wheel 8 and the steering wheel 7 are mechanically connected even at normal times, fail safe means does not need to be separately provided and the system can be simplified. Furthermore, the steering reaction force to be applied to the steering wheel 8 can be appropriately controlled.
