Abstract:
To provide a steering controller which can give a sufficient assistance force when a vehicle travels on a rough road.SOLUTION: A flow rate control unit has a flow rate map representing relations between vehicle speed V and flow rate command value Q* (supply oil quantity), which correspond to an assist mode A, a standby mode C and a rough road travel mode B respectively. The flow rate control unit selects each flow rate control mode on the basis of a vehicle speed V, a steering angle, a steering angle speed, and an acceleration detected by a group of acceleration sensors and uses the flow rate map corresponding to the selected flow rate control mode to calculate a flow rate command value Q*. A flow rate Qb for rough road travel in the flow rate map corresponding to the rough road travel mode B is set so as to be higher than a flow rate Qa for assist in the flow rate map corresponding to the assist mode A. When a vehicle is traveling on a rough road, the supply oil quantity Q of a hydraulic oil to be supplied to a power cylinder is made larger than that in the assist mode A to increase an assistance force generated by the power cylinder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
