To provide a steering device of a small vessel capable of obtaining proper steering performance according to the traveling state including the speed and acceleration/deceleration of the vessel.
This steering device is provided with an outboard motor 3 mounted on a hull, a steering wheel 7 for a vessel steering operation by a vessel operator, a steering angle sensor 9 for detecting a steering angle α by the steering wheel 7, a steering device 15 for making the outboard motor 3 perform a steering operation in relation to the hull according to the steering angle α of the steering wheel 7, and a control device 12 for calculating a steering angle β of the steering device 15 based on the steering angle α and a steering characteristic. The steering characteristic is set according to the traveling state.
