Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the inner wheel difference between a tractor and a trailer by controlling an arm member for pulling the trailer so that the arm member is turned by an optimum angle according to the relative angle between the tractor and the trailer, can speed, and the steering angle. CONSTITUTION:A steering device 20 which can properly change the advance direction of a trailer 10 is installed in the connection part between a tractor 1 and the trailer 10. The steering device 20 is equipped with a driving means 27 for driving a hitch member 22 so as to swing around a supporting shaft 24. The driving means 27 is constituted of a driving motor 28 installed onto a hitch member bracket 23 and a gear mechanism 29 consisting of a sector gear for transmitting the turning moment of the driving motor 28 to the hitch member. The driving motor 28 is operated by a controller on the basis of the operation state such as the relative angle between the tractor and the trailer and car speed, and the hitch member 22 is turned in the horizontal direction, and the trailer is steered.
