To provide a steering device capable of always accumulating the power in a power accumulating capacitor arranged in a steering side mechanism in the case where a column side mechanism and the steering side mechanism are connected to each other without generating a contact with each other.

A column side mechanism having an air bag operating alternating current power source 1 and an air bag sensor 3, a steering side mechanism having an air bag drive control unit 13, an air bag device 14, direct current voltage generating units 7, 8 and a power accumulating capacitor 9, and a contact-less coupler 6 for connecting the column side mechanism and the steering side mechanism to each other are provided. The column side mechanism transfers the alternating current power of the air bag operating alternating current power source 1 to the steering side mechanism through the contact-less coupler 6. The steering side mechanism converts the alternating current to the direct current through the direct current voltage generating units 7, 8, and accumulates the direct current in the power accumulating capacitor 9, and the accumulated power is used for a power source for the air bag drive control unit 13.
