When the bending moment acts on a pinion shaft 111 by, for example, a collision of a vehicle, bending occurs first at a circumferential groove 111e as an easily bent section. As a result, stress concentrates at the groove and no large bending stress occurs in a portion between a rolling bearing 102 and a support member 104. This means that excessive force is not transmitted to a four-point contact ball bearing 103.
