To induce a steering shaft so as to be forwardly inclined when a large load is applied to the front surface of a vehicle body.
In this steering device, a bumper frame 36 is provided on a front part of a side beam 31 and an oblique beam 32, and a sub-frame 60 is supported on the upper side. The sub-frame 60 has an approximately triangular upper part 61 and a downwardly curved lower part 62. An upper steering pipe 51 of a front wheel steering mechanism 5 is mounted to a lower part bracket 64 provided on a control arm 63 rearwardly extending from the lower part 62. When the sub-frame 60 is deformed by the large load F and the lower part 62 is downwardly bent, the control arm 63 is downwardly pulled and the lower part brackets 64, 65 are stood to make the upper steering pipe 51 integrated with this stand. Thereby, the upper steering shaft is induced so as to be forwardly inclined. A large in-cabin space S is formed at a rear side. Further, since the upper part 61 is deformed so as to be closed, an apex position is not varied and the descending of a roof 22 is suppressed.
