To extinguish axial direction play of an output rod of a telescopic actuator of a steering device using a feed screw mechanism.
When a motor 36 is driven in this steering device, rotation of the rotary shaft 45 is converted to telescopic motion of the output rod 33 by a feed screw mechanism 39, and a toe angle of wheels connected to the output rod 33 is changed. In an extinguished state of the play by fastening a pair of thrust bearings 75 and 76 holding a thrust receiving flange 74 integrated to a male screw member 95 of the feed screw mechanism 39 in an axial direction by a fastening member 77, looseness of the fastening member 77 is prevented by a lock nut 78. As a result, generation of abnormal sound can be prevented by suppressing play of the thrust receiving flange 74, and the toe angle of the wheels can be prevented from being unstable by preventing unexpected expansion or contraction of the output rod 33. The unexpected telescopic motion of the output rod 33 is not required to be prevented by making holding current flow to the motor 36 at the time, and thereby power consumption of the motor 36 is not increased.
