Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device capable of securing a relative positional accuracy between a rack shaft and a pinion shaft.SOLUTION: A steering device 20 includes a first cylindrical portion 32 accommodating a rack shaft 24 reciprocatingly in a vehicle width direction, and a second cylindrical portion 34 which rotatably accommodates a pinion shaft 26 which has a pinion tooth 26A engaged with a rack tooth 24A of the rack shaft 24 provided thereon and is mounted on the lower end of a steering shaft, and is formed integrally with the first cylindrical portion 32; and has a housing 30 which is mounted on a vehicle body and is made from a resin, rack stoppers 36 and 38 which are arranged inside in both ends in the axial direction of the first cylindrical portion 32 by insert molding, respectively, are formed of a material that is harder than a resin material forming the housing 30, and restrict a moving amount of the rack shaft 24 by abutting on tie rods connected to both ends of the rack shaft 24, respectively, and a rack support member 40 which is arranged inside of the rack stopper 36 and slidably supports the rack shaft 24 in the vehicle width direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
