Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device that can improve assemblability.SOLUTION: A steering device 1 includes: a rack shaft 2 having a rack tooth 21; a pinion shaft 13 having a pinion tooth 130; a metallic housing 4 having a first storage part 41 for storing the pinion shaft 13 and a second storage part 42 for storing the rack shaft 2; a resin cover member 5 which is attached to the first storage part 41 of the housing 4 and through which the pinion shaft 13 is inserted; and a seal member 91 sealing a gap between the cover member 5 and the first storage part 41. The housing 4 includes a lock portion 414 to which the cover member 5 is locked. The cover member 5 integrally includes an outer cylindrical part 51, an inner cylindrical part 52 arranged at an inner side of an opening end of the first storage part 41, and a protrusion 53 locked to the lock portion 414. The seal member 91 is firmly attached to an outer circumferential surface 52a of the inner cylindrical part 52 of the cover member 5 and is thereby elastically in contact with an inner circumferential surface 41c of the first storage part 41.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
