Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device capable of reducing the possibility of deformation to a housing storing a rack shaft when an impact absorption member is elastically deformed by a rack end due to an increase in the steering angle of a steering wheel.SOLUTION: When a slide member 55 impacts against a rack end 25 during the sliding of a rack shaft and generates an impact load, a corresponding pressing member is pressed against the side of a corresponding end damper rubber 52. Thereby, causing elastic deformation in the corresponding end damper rubber in the rack shaft axial direction and the rack shaft radial direction. When the end damper rubber is elastically deformed to the elastic limit by the impact load, the slide member is plastically deformed by being pressed against the corresponding pressing member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
