Abstract:
To provide a steering device which can inhibit an adverse effect caused by moisture entering into a housing while inhibiting increase of manufacturing costs.SOLUTION: A steering device 1 includes: a rack shaft 2; a housing 3; an electric motor 4; a control device 5; and a speed reduction mechanism 6 which reduces a speed of rotation of the electric motor 4 and applies axial moving force to the rack shaft 2. The housing 3 has a rack shaft housing part 31 and a speed reduction mechanism housing part 32. The electric motor 4 has: a motor case 41 fixed to the housing 3; multiple stator cores 421 arranged in an annular form within the motor case 41; coil windings 431 to 433 wound around the multiple stator cores 421; and a rotor 44. The motor case 41 is formed with a water guide hole 411b which introduces moisture entering into the speed reduction mechanism housing part 32 into an interior of the motor case 41. The control device 5 has detection means which detects water immersion at the interior of the motor case 41.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
