Abstract:

To provide a steering gear box supporting structure which can reduce a yaw response gain of a vehicle to a minute steering input.

For example, an internal cylinder 3 is connected with a car body side member, an external cylinder 4 is connected with a steering gear box 1, and an elastic member 7 consisting of leaf springs 20 and 21 is inserted between the internal cylinder 3 and the external cylinder 4 in the axial direction of the steering gear box 1, i.e., in the vehicle width direction. The elastic member 7 is equipped with a first elastic section 8 which comes into contact with the internal cylinder 3 and has a smaller elastic modulus, and a second elastic section 9 which is in parallel with the elastic section 8, is arranged with a gap 10 to the first elastic section 8, and has a larger elastic modulus. An axial direction stopper 6 is provided on the outside of the second elastic section 9 with a gap 11. Since only the drag of the first elastic section 8 having the smaller elastic modulus is applied in a region wherein a steering input is small, the steering reaction force is small. In a region wherein a lateral acceleration is large, the drag of the second elastic section 9 is applied as well, and the steering reaction force is promptly raised to a steering input.
