To provide a miniaturizable steering lock device with reduced noise.
In this steering lock 10, the end of a lock bar 50 is fitted to the groove of a steering shaft to perform steering lock. The drive source of the steering lock device is a linear motor section 30. A linear motor is formed by the combination of a first coil 33 and permanent magnets 32A-32E mounted on a yoke 31 attached to a lock stopper 40 which is moved together with the lock bar 50 in the state of holding the lock bar 50. When the first coil 33 is electrified and a torque for moving the first coil 33 to the left side shown in the figure occurs, the end of the lock bar 50 is fitted to the groove of the steering shaft, and the steering is locked. Also, when a torque for moving the first coil 33 to the right side shown in the figure occurs, the end of the lock bar 50 is disengaged from the groove of the steering shaft, and the steering is unlocked.
