PURPOSE: To provide a steering lock device at a low cost and excellent in a burglarproof function by forming a recessed part at least on one of an outer peripheral surface of a steering shaft side member and an inner peripheral surface of a locked member side member and holding a lubricant in the recessed part.
CONSTITUTION: Six pieces of lubricant grooves 30 are formed in parallel in the shaft direction as recessed parts on an outer peripheral surface of a steering shaft 10. Each of the lubricant grooves 30 is formed inside of a borderline of a surface where the steering shaft 10 and a key lock collar 12 are engaged with each other, that is, a borderline of an inner peripheral surface of the key lock collar 12, and an inside space of the lubricant groove 30 is made a closed space blocked from outside. It is possible to restrain growth of permanent set in fatigue due to friction on the outer peripheral surface of the steering shaft 10 and the inner peripheral surface of the key lock collar 12 by a lubricating effect of grease 32. Lowering of sliding out torque and sliding torque due to the steering shaft repeatedly rotated and a burglary preventive function is improved.
