PURPOSE: To obtain a steering mechanism for an off-road vehicle, especially for a tractor for reducing the turning radius by turning wheels relative to the steering axle simultaneously with a pivotal movement of the steering axle relative to the chassis of the tractor.
CONSTITUTION: When steering a vehicle, a cylinder rod 26 of a hydraulic cylinder 25 is protruded on the left side for example and mobile wheels 19 are rotated around kingpins 24. Also, a bell crank 40 is rotated through a coupling link 50 at the same time, its front end 41 is moved and a steering axle 18 is pressed through an idling linkage 45. Further, the steering axle 18 and its gear housing 22 are rotated around a second perpendicular pivot 38. During these operations, the bell crank 40 is rotated around a first pivot 36 and its front end 41 is rotated along a specified arc. The idling linkage 45 is rotatably coupled to the front end 41 of the bell crank 40 by a third perpendicular pivot 42 for solving the problem of variations in movements along an arc.
