Title:
STEERING SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01168585
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make smooth traveling perfomable without entailing any unintended steering and inadvertent wheel steering angle by installing a curved tie rod connecting each tip of symmetrically bifurcated steering arms to an overhead knuckle arm via a ball joint. CONSTITUTION:A steering arm 28 is symmetrically bifurcated, and a front end of the arm 28b at the right is connected to a tie rod 30a, where the steering arm 28 side is curved downward, via a ball joint 29b. The other end of this tie rod 30a is connected to an overhead knuckle arm 32a being situated in a position farther onward than a steering axis of a front wheel 3a. Likewise a front end of the arm 28a at the left is connected to an overhead knuckle arm 32b via a ball joint 29a, a tie rod 30b and a ball joint 31b. In consequence, at times of an impact received and being braked, each steering angle of front wheels 3a, 3b is kept constant, so that the front wheels 3a, 3b are in no case steering in the unintended direction.
