To provide a steering torque detection device for a saddle-ride type vehicle detecting steering torque without largely changing a frame structure of a conventional saddle-ride type vehicle and without greatly increasing the number of parts and the cost.
The steering torque detection device 10 for a saddle-ride type vehicle includes a strain gauge 39 adhered to the outer periphery of a steering shaft 31 and a torque calculation unit 57 calculating steering torque based on output voltage variation of the strain gauge 39 generated by torsion of the steering shaft 31. Also, the steering torque detection device 10 for a saddle-ride type vehicle includes a harness 41 electrically connecting the strain gauge 39 and a signal line on a body frame 13 side to each other. The harness 41 spirally extends in the axial direction of the steering shaft 31 so as to go around the steering shaft 31 by one turn or more in a state departing from the outer periphery of the steering shaft 31.
