Abstract:
To provide a steering unit making it possible to readily secure an inner race while inhibiting deformation of the inner race of a bearing.SOLUTION: A steering unit includes a rack shaft, a ball screw nut 31, a housing 16, and a bearing 50 that is interposed between an internal surface of the housing 16 and a periphery of the ball screw nut 31 in order to rotatably support the ball screw nut 31. The bearing 50 includes an outer race 51, an inner race 52, and a first ball group 55 and second ball group 56 interposed between the outer race 51 and inner race 52 while being lined in an axial direction. A groove 31a is formed on the periphery of the ball screw nut 31. The groove 31a is caulked with a region 60d of a support part 60c inwards in a radial direction. A support member 60 abuts against an end surface 53b of a first inner race part 53 of the inner race 52 and a step surface 31c of the groove 31a while being fitted in the groove 31a for caulking, and applies a constraining force F1 to the end surface 53b of the first inner race part 53.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
