PURPOSE: To provide a steering wheel that can reduce the number of constituent part items even if it is equipped with a self-aligning mechanism and an air bag unit, and also to check any increase in manufacturing manhours and manufacturing cost.

CONSTITUTION: A boss core bar 20, an air bag unit 30 and a cover number 17 are set up in a boss part B at the center. The boss core bar 20 is equipped with a base part 21, where a connection 24 connecting a steering shaft 1 to the underside is set up, a connecting ring part 23 being set up around this base part 21 and to be connected to a core bar 13 of a spoke part, and a deforming part 22 connecting the connecting ring part 23 and the base part 21 and being plastically deformable, respectively. The air bag unit 30 is equipped with an air bag 31 and an inflator 32, and a peripheral edge of an air bag owing part 31a and an inflator flange part 32c are connected to the connecting ring part 23, whereby it is held by the boss core bar 20.
