Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering wheel turning mechanism for a vehicle, in which the occurrence of rattling sound can be suppressed.SOLUTION: A steering wheel turning mechanism 20 for a vehicle, which steers steerable vehicle wheels 29 and 29 and includes: a pinion 31 that is connected to a steering wheel 21 and is rotatable; a rack 32 that is driven by being meshed with the pinion 31; rack ends 27 and 27 extending from both ends of the rack 32 in the vehicle width direction; and knuckles 28 and 28 attached to both ends of the rack ends 27 and 27. First connection points P1 at which the rack ends 27 and 27 are connected to the rack are located above second connection points P2 at which the knuckles 28 and 28 are connected to the rack ends 27 and 27. When a region, which meshes with the rack 32 while the vehicle moves straight, of the pinion 31 is set as a regular meshing region CA, an elastic film 81 with elasticity is formed above the regular meshing region CA.
