To provide a step device capable of reducing a shrinking volume of a cylinder device driving a step plate.
Link mechanisms 3, 3 are arranged between a step plate 1 rotatably connecting to a deck part 21 of a vehicle body 20 and a bottom installation part 22 so as to actuate between a condition for suspending the step plate 1 in a vertical direction and an actuation condition for projecting the plate in a horizontal direction relative to the vehicle body 20. The respective link mechanisms 3 are rotatably connected with the step plate 1 by a second connection shaft 5, and with the installation part 2 by a third connection shaft 5. A cylinder device 11 is provided as a driving device for rotating the third connection shaft 5 via an actuation link 10. The cylinder device 11 is connected with the link mechanism 3 via the actuation link 10, so as to reduce its shrinking volume. Also, installation in a horizontal direction is not required, and so installation in a vertical direction can be realized.
